RACING IN SANTA MONICA BAY
The Association of Santa Monica Bay Yacht Clubs collaborate to provide area racers with a rich yearly calendar of races. The Santa Monica Bay buoys are provided and maintained by member clubs. In most regatta, racers must be members of a recognized yacht club. There are a few races that are geared toward beginners and those who want to get into racing. These regattas do not require yacht club membership. See the ASMBYC Calendar for more information and the listing of regattas available.
RACING FOR 2017 HAS STARTED WITH A BANG…okay, maybe a whisper. But the Highpoint Series standings grow no matter the wind conditions. See the HIGHPOINT standings.
CORINTHIAN AND CRUISER RACERS: Before entering your regattas, please check on the rating system in use by the race authority. For instance, CYC is using PHRF Corinthian ratings and DRYC is using their proprietary ratings system. Make sure you have all requirements completed ahead of the the regatta, read the NORs for each regatta for more information.
